But before then, let's look at a brief introduction about the B.V.N:
The Bank Verification Number commonly called BVN is a biometric identification system implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria to curb or reduce illegal banking transactions in Nigeria.
The BVN has 11 digit numbers that acts as your universal ID in any Nigeria Bank. Think of it as a socio-security number in the banking industry. It ensures you can engage in transactions at any Point of Banking operations, furthermore the BVN can be used to open a bank account in any Nigerian Bank without stressing your self felling their bank form but once you provides your 11digits BVN number, the long process will become lesser.
Having said this, we will be looking into the reason why Npower require you to input your BVN number during Registration.
Having known that the BVN links all our Bank accounts in Nigeria, it worthy to Note why we are required to input it while registering for Npower.
I will love to share a little story with you guys before I proceed.
During the first week that Npower kicked off the online application, my uncle who is a federal government worker met me and asked me to register him with my system.
I was so very much shocked when he said this, because this is a man that earns about 80k per month, then what is he going to do with Npower money?
This gave me a sleepless nights that I have to start doing research how Npower can fish out people like that from their platform because I am fully aware that the programme is for the unemployed youths or the vulnerables.
After my findings I came out with this wonderful observation which am going to share with you now.
Having known that our BVN links all the banks we bank with, it has given us a clear reason why Npower require you to input it at the time of Registration, because they are going to use it to access all your bank transaction details in all the bank that you bank with to know if you really deserve the Npower money.
Don't be afraid when they ask you to input your BVN, because the Federal Government has enough for them selves and not that your small little change that they will be after, but for rather they want to use it to ensure that those that receives steady credit alert don't get involved in the Npower grant.
Inputting your BVN will also help them to fish out those that has already benefitted from the programme and still reapplied.
Just like the story that I shared above about my uncle, if Npower checks the Transaction of such people, they will disqualify him from the programme because it's not for people like him but for the unemployed Nigerian youths.
Having said these, I want to you to know that your BVN is used to access your transaction details for and know wether you deserve it or not.
So don't be afraid to input it because they have enough.
